Mortal Gods - Hades Rises

Image
Hades really didn't do well vs Jason & friends on the last game, with the necromancers spending the whole game just stemming the tide by summoning over and over due to skeletons constantly dying and running away. So for this one I decided to go with double necromancers.  Lets see how they do against these cronies of the so called father of gods.. Bah! For this build I decided to go skeleton HEAVY and go with double necromancer. In the last game the necromancer was employed full time to just keep resurrecting skeletons who were being destroyed left right and centre. With two necromancers I hoped to have more black pebbles to do more interesting things. First clash was the mighty Minotaur vs the Hydra. The Hydra is very scary when at full health.. but in the games so far it doesn't stay at full health for long as he is public enemy #1. Unfortunately as soon as he gets any damage his effectiveness starts to fall, which is a shame as other big meanies remain at full fighting po...

Test of Honour - Night Raid

Image
The Wok of a thousand flavours - night raid An elite Ninja force mounts a raid on a small town. The Ninjas are after a mystical Wok, which is said to contain a thousand flavours. The Wok is hidden under three objectives, which need to be searched before the Wok is revealed.  The defender has 24 recruitment points, half of which come on to the board as reinforcements The Ninja attacker has 15 recruitment points. The table is set with the Ninjas deploying on the top edge.  The defenders are mostly clustered around the center of the board.   As this is a night-time game, the defending warriors are all unaware and have a short line of sight of 6".  They spend their time wandering around randomly unless they are made aware that something is terribly wrong.  Things such as being killed, having shuriken embedded in your face, seeing your friends dead in a pile tend to raise suspicions so the Ninja will need to pick their battles carefully. The game starts with the...

Dropzone Commander - Painting Shaltari

Image
It all started with this beautiful beast. Such an awesome model and paint job. I was in love and I knew I had to collect Shaltari immediately. After much searching I managed to buy a massive second hand lot of Shaltari for a decent price It was of course WAY too much for me to keep so I sold 2/3 to a fellow dropzoner and kept everything below the wooden stick. Off goes the Shaltari in the post I started to go through what I had and a lot of it was bent, broken or just built in really bad poses. The worst offender was the thick paint on some models, which was of course in a completely different colour to what I want. So it was time to strip the paint, and also hopefully loosen the superglue too so I could reposition. I had a google and a lot of the recommendations I found were for chemicals not easily obtainable here in the UK, however I saw one classic chemical the was frequently popping up...  DETTOL I promptly bought a bottle and then threw in a sacrificial yari tank. I le...
